About
the man behind the monitor...
I am a web-designer based in Western Canada. For the past 10 years I've been dividing my time between Vancouver and Whitehorse, but I've recently moved to Nanaimo, BC to work as a full-time web designer for Real Estate Webmasters.
I became interested in web design through photography. Back in late 1998 I wanted a way to get my photos on the web so that I could share them with friends and family. I hit a search engine, (hard to imagine, but it wasn't Google because I didn't know about it yet!) I got myself a free Geocities site and started to read WebMonkey tutorials on HTML. Since then I've been doing freelance web design gigs on a part-time basis while going to school. I've taught myself everything that I know about web design from web sites, help files, tutorials, and by asking questions on forums. I've recently decided to make this my career and I couldn't be happier.
Aside from designing web sites, I enjoy music, literature, chess, photography, and Guinness.
I have good balance, a lousy sense of smell, and a red beard.
If you know what I'm wearing on my head, chances are you're a Canadian.
I highly recommend the Firefox web browser for everyone, (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux.) It's free, open-source, and wonderful! Safer, faster, tabbed, and just wait until you discover extensions...!
